    羅沛霖逝世於2011年4月17日。兩年來，許多他生前的朋友和同事造訪南沙溝的公寓，慰問遺孀楊敏如教授，懷念“羅總”。不少人建議為他出版一個《紀念集》，他當年執行規劃、設計和施工華北無線電材料聯合廠（718廠）時的同事們尤為熱心。正是在這個60年前風華正茂的年輕人群中，產生了很多中國電子產業的新中國後起之秀。值此祭日，編者在《容思》網站特別登載幾位元老的紀念文章（李慶星、韓曲、冯怀涵、沈执良、徐英莲、张亨文、秦亦山、郭大志等貢獻的紀念文章）。我們紀念羅沛霖當年同事（李瑞廠長/電子工業部前副部長），鳴謝718廠後繼七星集團的領導關懷，致意當年718廠開拓者趙光雲策劃了《開拓者》，並致意21世紀798藝術區發起人黃銳主編了《798工廠創造北京的新藝術、建築和社會》，答謝718建廠同事/前北京市副市長韓伯平和韓曲兄妹對羅沛霖及其家庭的關心。 羅沛霖博士在設計和建廠718時負總技術責任，這段經歷對他一生的成功事業是尤其輝煌和自主得意的一頁。他在22個月內從美國名校加州理工學院修成了博士，在回國安排工作時受到延安時軍委三局老領導王諍的器重，在718的東德設計和中國建設中受到國內外技術團隊的從命，所成就的工廠是當時世界最大規模和最先進的電子產業集群。這也是他貢獻和發揮個人知識、才智、性格和理念的一次大實踐。在當年718廠這個國際熔爐中，羅沛霖所帶領和同事的許多青年中外成員，都是併發出了各自人生大貢獻的最大熱能。 在建廠高潮期，一百多名東德外專參加了項目。多達22個境外廠商供應此項目的工藝和設備；於此同時，供應鏈因蘇聯紅軍對東德工業出產的巨大消耗爾延遲。設備直接通過貫西伯利亞大鐵路運輸到北京，並為718廠專門延建了15公里的“北京站－東郊站”路段。加州理工學院出身的羅沛霖博士，前建設準備團隊負責人（1951-1953），是718聯合廠建設期的總工程師。羅博士現在退休於北京，他當初的同事記得他是一個盡職完美的追求者。他針對當時環境下的重重阻力作出了個人負責的決策，被認為是這個項目最終成功的重要因素。（《維基百科原文》：http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/798_Art_Zone：At the height of the construction effort, more than 100 East German foreign experts worked on the project.     2012-1-8 冯怀涵，沈执良 当1950年我们还是上海交通大学电机系二年级的学生时，遇到要分强电和弱电即电力和电讯专业，那天由电机界的泰斗电机系系主任钟兆林教授来给我们讲如何分专业。给我们留下最深的记忆就是他在黑板上写的两个例子：一是罗沛霖，他学的电力，在美国得了个电讯博士；二是凌松年，他学的电讯，是上海电机厂的总工程师(后者是我的表舅，和罗沛霖不认识)，我们从此记住了这位可敬的前辈。三年后，我们在张家口军委通信工程学院德文班毕业后，分配到北京718厂筹备组，地点是西四机织威四合院。 Read.
